Now we are in Austin, TX and having a blast!  We made it through oil country, cattle country, and rice plaintains, lands of ancient fueding families and Texas Ranger shoot-outs. Extreme drought, a burn ban, and charred trees greeted us through the first part of this vast state....We've seen wildflowers everywhere, and our first cactuses of the trip... We're messing with Texas, and we'll write more soon.
